The Head Coach for Mens Volleyball reports directly to the Director of Athletics & Recreation. The Head Coachs purpose is to maintain and enhance the program's success as a conference, regional and national contender and carry that success into the classroom and beyond. Furthermore, the position of the coach is to organize and facilitate all aspects of a competitive NAIA Volleyball program in a professional manner that will translate into a successful and fulfilling experience for all student-athletes who are associated with the program. This position is a 12-month position that coordinates and is responsible for all aspects of the Men's Volleyball program, including compliance with NAIA, Conference and University rules and regulations; recruitment of qualified, gifted student-athletes; contest scheduling; budget management and retention of student-athletes. The Head Coach must also contribute to the overall mission of the Department and University through their service and must serve as a mentor and leader of students.

Essential Duties
Year-long recruiting of student-athletes and full management of the Mens Basketball program in accordance with NAIA, the Southern State Athletic Conference, university and department guidelines.
This individual will lead all aspects of the program, including but not limited to, management of assistant coaches, game and practice plans, travel, budget, equipment maintenance, etc. This coachs philosophy needs to include educating the whole student-athlete: spiritually, academically, and athletically.
The Head Coach is a representation of the departments mission and vision fully aligning with that of the University.
Maintains communications and regular contact with prospective student-athletes.
Organizing prospective student-athlete day and overnight visits and administering tours for all prospective student-athletes.
Year-long program management monitoring academic progress of student athletes as well as working with off-season conditioning programs.
Responsible for practice and game preparation
Scouting of opponents by attending games, viewing video, or obtaining other scouting reports
Commitment to community engagement and fundraising activities
Position requires travel during the week and weekends.

Job Description:
Oversee recruiting including identifying prospects, building relationships with prospects and their families and coordinating the financial aid offers. Accountable to see to it that both the mens and womens teams keep a full roster of athletes as defined in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
Schedule competitions for both indoor and outdoor track and field, and practices during the season, working with the other pertinent sports for use of shared facilities.
Work with the campus visit coordinator for scheduling recruits and/or their families to visit campus. Serve as the primary host for track and field recruits when they visit campus.
Manage all spending for operations and recruiting within the budget parameters determined by Tabors executive team. Assist the Athletic Director in the budget developing process.
Submit and execute a fund-raising plan each year upon approval by immediate supervisor.
Submit and execute an integration of faith plan each year upon approval by immediate supervisor.
Manage the scheduling of events including the meet and travel schedule, meals, dismissal times, hotel arrangements, vehicle needs, etc..
Design daily and yearly practice plans.
Provide leadership to off-season training including strength and agility training, as well as other skills.
Be aware of Tabor College in respect to: history, philosophy, mission, academic programs, student activities and organizations, student profile, cost/fees and admissions requirements and procedures.
Be an active participant in the spiritual aspect of campus such as Christian mentoring, attend chapel services regularly, supporting the Community Life Covenant and other areas of spiritual life throughout the campus.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics within the Athletic Department, such as teaching class, event administration, SID, etc. Tasks depend on the needs of the college and strength of the candidate.
