Position Summary:

The Assistant Athletics Director for Internal Affairs is responsible for the day-to-day business affairs of the department, facility management and competition operations, and supervision of assigned staff. The individual may serve as a sport administrator for assigned sports.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of one year of experience in similar roles in a collegiate athletics department (or other related experience) is required. Experience in facilities and event management is required. A suitable combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.

Job Duties:

Budget Management
Manage the Athletics Department budget, including, but not limited to requisition requests, invoice and credit card processing, account transfers, check requests, and travel advances

Sports Medicine Services
May serve as the liaison to the external sports medicine services provider

Facilities, Operations, and Competition/Event Management
Coordinate athletics department facility scheduling;
Coordinate contracts for external events conducted in athletics facilities, actively promote rental opportunities to external groups, oversee use of athletics facilities by external groups;
Oversee the preparation for and operation of home athletics competitions, university events conducted in athletics facilities (e.g., commencement) and external events conducted in athletics facilities;
Coordinate the scheduling of student workers for competition and event management;
Coordinate concessions at all appropriate competitions and events;
Acquire and maintain full detailed knowledge of university athletics venues;
Conduct facility walk-throughs to verify conditions and coordinate facility maintenance;
Assist with athletics events.

Sport Administration
Provide programmatic oversight for assigned sports and their respective coaching staffs;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to manage the day-to-day business operations of the athletics department (i.e., accounts payable and receivable) using knowledge of basic accounting/budgeting procedures and skills in basic math.
Skills related to the management of multiple facilities.
Competition and event contract writing, fulfillment and management abilities.
Sport administrator (for a variety of sports) skills and abilities.
Strong organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize workload and meet short-term deadlines on a regular basis.
Ability to coordinate scheduling requirements with multiple organizations and agencies.
Attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the big picture.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to operate a computer, printer, applicable software and multi-function office machine (copy, scan, fax).
Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Ability to travel for work-related activities.
Ability to coordinate concessions at competitions.
Ability to operate public address and scoreboard systems.
Ability to supervise assigned staff.
Ability to serve as a liaison to campus departments and external partners.
Ability to represent the Director of Athletics when necessary.
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, NAIA rules.
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.

POSITION: Athletic Trainer

START DATE: Application review begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Preferred start date - between July 1 July 24, 2024

SALARY: Salary $43,788 per year. Excellent benefits package. NATA dues, State licensure and continuing education funds are provided.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: This position will provide preventative care, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Supervise the daily operation of the athletic training room, cleaning the athletic training room, filling whirlpools, stocking tapes, and doing inventory to ensure for smooth operation of the treatment and care of the student athletes. Coverage of assigned practices and games with post-season travel. Communication with coaches for assigned teams. Appropriate documentation of injuries, rehabilitation and doctor visits. Other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer. Sport assignment will be based on department need and discussed during interview, likely to be mens and womens basketball.

Requirements: BOC Certification is required for employment however, applicants that are BOC Certification eligible will be considered. Nebraska licensure for athletic training or eligible to apply is also required. Bachelors degree in athletic training or related field is preferred. Previous athletic training experience in intercollegiate athletics is preferred. Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with campus community. Position will require night and weekend hours. Valid drivers license is required. This position is exempt with regard to FLSA overtime provisions. This position is covered by the NSCPA bargaining unit.
